The Combat Load Bearing Vest M5 (CLBV-M5) is designed for real world military operations and has been in production since 1988. It's ergonomic design gives you the comfort and capability to meet the mission of modern combat. The four magazine and two utility pouches are positioned to allow running, jumping, squating, low crawling and firing your weapon from the prone position with optimum efficency.
The CLBV-M5 magazine and utility pouches each have a silent opening clasp to secure against accidental providing for maximum operational stealth. Pouches can be easily opened wearing gloves and won't wear out like velcro or clog with grit like snaps. Additional internal silencers prevent buckle components from ratteling against magazines. Vest closes using silent adjustable quick-release buckles.

The standard CLBV-M5 magazine and utility pouches holds up to 8 magazines and 2 fragmentation grenades, and are double layered for extra durability. Each magazine pouch is tunneled for tucking in the pouch flaps. Pouches are designed for griping the mags with bare hands or gloves - no cord, tape, or rubber pulls needed. Each utility pouches will hold 1 grenade, U.S., soviet, or chicom, 2 M16 20 RND mags, 2 field dressings, or 10 12GA shotshells. There are webbing loops on the harness and vest sides for up to 6 additional smoke grenades or frags.
The CLBV-M5 for M16 is US UNIVERSAL for current inventory, holding either 8 each M16 30 round mags, or 4 each M14 20 round mags, or 12 each HK-MP5 30 round mags.

The CLBV-M5 includes a detachable BANDOLEER/UTILITY POUCH that holds: GI 1.5 liter Camelback PackTeen, 2-140 round 5.56mm ammunition bandoleers; Beta C-Mag; M249 200 round magazine; poncho and MRE. Also included are detachable LOAD STABILIZER STRAPS with adjustable quick-release buckles that balance the load. The back panel has 2 steel loops for attaching additional equipment, and the attachment webbing is reinforced for carrying the GI collapsible shovel or GI 2 qt. canteen. The CLBV-M5 has a full range of integrated accessories for every mission. The CLBV RECON PACK attaches at shoulder level like a back pack, or at waist level like a butt pack. The LOAD STABILIZER STRAPS (included) make carrying the recon pack effortless, and completely balanced in either configuration. Other integrated accessories include: thumb-break shoulder holster, GI 64 OZ canteen carrier, and sleeping bag carrier. A GI pistol belt or Class 13 web belt can be attached to the vest using the 8 ADJUSTABLE belt loops.

The vest has webbing loops on left and right sides designed for attaching pouches, frags, or camouflage material. The shoulder harness uses firm resilient foam padding for maximum comfort. There are 8 steel loops for attaching additional equipment and the integrated accessories. The harness has additional front and rear webbing loops are for attaching pouches or camouflage material. The The CLBV is fully adjustable using nylon webbing and front quick-release buckles with side non-slip steel buckles and elastic strap keepers, fitting USGI chest sizes of small (33 IN) to extra large (49 IN to 60 IN) and heights of short to extra-long.
The CLBV-M5 is made from 100% DUPONT CORDURA nylon 1000 denier fabric, the most wear resistant nylon available. If you have a nylon GI duffle bag you know how durable CORDURA is. All vest panels are designed for extra durability using an integral webbing reinforceing matrix for extra strength, and extra webbing reinforcements on top and bottom edges. Assembly meets U.S. military specifications using straight and box-x stitching, with stress points reinforced with bar tacks. The CLBV-M5 is available in solid colors and camouflage pattern for all user specified weapons.
